United Streaming (Subscription)
Online database of educational videos from Discovery Education.  A code is required to create user name and password; contact Media Center about our subscription if you are member of the Suffield Middle School community.

Cable in the Classroom
Offers many features available via cable and online video provided by cable networks that include C-Span, the Discovery Channel and other networks.

Library of Congress Webcasts
Webcast speeches, performances, and programs from the Library of Congress on a variety of subjects related to their programs and collections, including biography, culture, government, poetry, science, and religion.

Open Video Project
The Open Video repository provides video clips from a variety of sources, especially various video programs obtained from U.S. government agencies such as the National Records and Archives Administration and NASA.  This free, online repository from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is available to all educators.

Electronic Field Trips
Ball State University Electronic Field Trips is a highly interactive web site.  A group of professional teachers work on each field trip to develop extensive standards-based, grade-appropriate lessons for teachers.

Research Channel
This consortium of research universities and corporate research divisions offers live Webcasts and a video library of nearly 3,000 scholarly programs, with new releases added each week.

Internet Movie Archive
The Internet Archive hosts a Moving Image Archive featuring Universal Newsreel films produced from 1929 to 1967.

Yahoo and Google also offer access to free online clips. (These sites are not moderated).

It is easy to find wonderful clips to watch online; this companion site to the TV program broadcast on PBS.

NOVA: ScienceNOW
Introduces students to current scientific research with fast-paced segments. Past presentations have focused on papyrus, extinction, artificial life, fuel cells, and the 1918 flu epidemic.

Teachers' Domain
Multimedia Resources for the Classroom and Professional Development.  This web site's resources are free but you must register.

PBS Nature
Great science resources including free streaming video clips.

Howard Hughes Medical Institute: Bio interactive
This web site has a library of science animations as well as other features including "Ask a Scientist."

This is multimedia and video gallery web site featuring images and clips of missions; includes NASA Television and podcasts.
